The heavily visual book, packed with retro photos and architectural drawings, is not about the sport of bowling per se, but does a deep dive into the art, architecture and style of the midcentury game. Both authors have a longstanding history with the Los Angeles Conservancy. King of Kitsch Chris Nichols is a journalist, editor, preservationist, and author of “The Leisure Architecture of Wayne McAllister” and “Walt Disney’s Disneyland.” He has also been keeping LA informed with the “Ask Chris” column in LA Magazine since 2000.
When she is not writing for Schiffer Publishing and eichlernetwork.com, Adriene Biondo has been keeping busy on conservancy committees and boards. She has been Chair Emeritus at Los Angeles Conservancy Modern Committee, Board member for Valley Relics Museum, and Chair Emeritus at Museum of Neon Art
